Arora to take Toronto post

Radha Arora, manager of the Ritz hotel in London, is to take up the position of executive manager (rooms) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto at the end of the month.

Mr Arora has been employed at the Ritz for the past seven years. Prior to that, he worked at the Savoy and the Four Seasons, London.

It is understood that his current responsibilities at the Ritz will be shared between senior members of staff.

Green and Hawes in landmark move

Francis Green has become manager at London's Landmark hotel, reporting to general manager Wolfgang Nitschke.

Mr Green was previously deputy general manager at the Royal Lancaster in London.

Another new recruit to the Landmark - formerly the Regent - is Paula Hawes. Ms Hawes takes up the new position of director of corporate sales. She joins from the Hotel Inter-Continental, Hyde Park Corner, where she held a similar position.

Burtt gets the post at ascot

Richard Burtt has been appointed general manager at Ascot racecourse for Ring & Brymer.

Mr Burtt was previously executive manager at Wheeler's restaurants, responsible for all the restaurants in the Wheeler's group. He replaces Edward Loewendahl, who will be joining Letheby & Christopher as regional general manager.

Bushey blazes new burger trail

Craig Bushey has been promoted to the new position of senior vice-president of operations for Burger King in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

He has 20 years' experience with Burger King, most recently as vice-president operations/sales for the central region of the USA.

Mutt bolts into recruitment

John Nutt has started his own executive recruitment consultancy for the hotel and leisure industry based in Primrose Hill, London.

He was previously senior consultant with the executive recruitment services division of Pannell Kerr Forster Associates.

Beeton rumford takes on lawrie

Rupert Lawrie has joined Beeton Rumford as restaurant manager of the new £2m Terrace Restaurant at Earls Court Exhibition Centre.

Mr Lawrie joins Beeton Rumford from Pavilion Services, where he was a catering manager.

Warden steps in at St James's club

Jean-Claude Messant is quitting as general manager of London's St James's Club just five months after its reopening under the ownership of ex-Ladbroke boss Cyril Stein.

Mr Messant, who is said to have decided not to renew his contract, will be replaced by Philip Warden, deputy general manager of the Montcalm Hotel Nikko, London.

Zambon retires from Savoy

Luigi Zambon, manager of the Savoy's River Restaurant, retired last week after 13 years. His replacement is still to be announced.

KEVIN CLARK to head chef, Foxhills Country Club, Ottershaw, Surrey, from head chef, Crown of Crucis Hotel, Cirencester.

SANDRA CROOK to services manager at Ashorne Hill Management College, Leamington Spa, from residential services manager, Ashridge Management College, Berkhamsted, Hertfordshire.

KATIE PETERS to regional sales executive, North-west, Croft Hotels, from regional co-ordinator, Hilton International.

JULIA HENZELL to director of consumer marketing, Hilton National, from senior account manager, Barraclough Hall Woolston Gray.

TANIA WEBB to food and beverage operations manager, Club Partners International, from director of operations, Food and Beverage Solutions, Hong Kong.

DAVE BURLEY to sales and marketing manager at pub operating company CM Group, from UK sales manager at German group Rittal.

STEWART BROWN to consultant, retail and restaurant division, Berkeley Scott, from training and development officer, National Leisure Catering.

SEFTON WILKINSON, former catering manager with Wyre Borough Council, has set up a computerised stocktaking consultancy service for the licensed and catering industry.
