US-based Mexican restaurant group Chipotle opens second UK site

US-based Mexican restaurant group Chipotle has opened its second London restaurant in Baker Street.

The firm, which has over 1,100 restaurants in the USA, debuted the concept in the UK in London last year at its 114-116 Charing Cross Road site.

Steve Ells, founder, chairman and co-chief executive of Chipotle, said: "We continue to think the prospects are very good for Chipotle in London. The food culture there is based on local, sustainable and artisanal foods, which are all core values of Chipotle, and we have been instrumental in bringing this kind of thinking to fast-food in the USA - it is one of the ways we are changing the way people think about and eat fast food."

Chipotle in London will offer a focused menu of burritos, tacos, burrito bowls (a burrito without a tortilla) and salads.
