Irish billionaire Sean Quinn is likely to become the new owner of the Wentworth golf club and hotel in Virginia Water, Surrey. Property group Chelsfield, which owns the club, has accepted Quinn's £122m offer for the property unless another bidder pays a further £8m on top.
The golf club and leisure complex, which includes a hotel, spa and tennis courts, last year posted an operating profit of £6m on a turnover of £17.6m.
