Marylebone Warwick Balfour launches Pub du Vin

The owner of boutique hotel brands Malmaison and Hotel du Vin has launched the first of its pub concept, Pub du Vin, today in Brighton.

Marylebone Warwick Balfour (MWB) has opened the pub at former site of the Sussex Art Club which adjoins its Hotel du Vin, after carrying out extensive renovation works.

The sister building will comprise 12 bedrooms and two rooftop suites, and will bear similar hallmarks to that of its hotel counterpart.

Pub du Vin will be in the vein of a British style pub, with a wide variety of fine ales, a selection of wines, and traditional pub fare using local ingredients.

Although chief executive of Malmaison and Hotel du Vin Robert Cook, has spoken of his hopes to roll out the brand across the country, his boss, Richard Balfour-Lynn recently cast doubts on the feasibility of the idea.

Speaking to Caterersearch, Balfour-Lynn said: “We're currently in debate as to whether or not to roll out Pub du Vin, but my instinct would be to stick with the hotel concept instead."
