Sodexho has been signed up to run a £50m-plus deal to provide catering and soft services to the Queen’s Life Guard and military personnel at several London landmarks.

The seven-year, £7.3m annual turnover contract, which starts next April, will see Sodexho provide facility management services at 16 defence sites including the Tower of London and Buckingham Place, as well as Windsor Castle.

The company will feed around 5,000 customers up to three meals a day, weekly, employing 500 staff as part of the Ministry of Defence’s move to Pay As You Dine services.

Sodexo Defence will also invest more than a million pounds to bring its HUB high street-alike offer to services personnel. As part of this 40 catering and bar premises will be upgraded and eleven shops introduced under the Londis brand.

Jeremy Dicks, Sodexho Defence contract director for London, said: “This is another major contract success and reinforces our excellent working relationship with the armed forces.”
