Pescatori restaurant in central London has joined the list of hospitality businesses hit by the Russian spy poisoning controversy.

Traces of the radioactive poison which killed Alexander Litvinenko in November have been discovered at the restaurant, the Health Protection Agency (HPA) announced on Friday.

It joins sushi bar Itsu and the Millennium Hotel which were also found to be contaminated with polonium 210.

But the HPA added that the restaurant was open for business and added there was no public health concern.

Luigi Lavarini, manager of Pescatori, told the BBC: “We have no memory of Mr Litvinenko coming to the restaurant. We really don’t know who it could be.”
