Pub group scoops up Towngate Inn
London & Edinburgh Inns has bought the Towngate Inn in Market Deeping, Lincolnshire, for a sum "well over £1m" through agent Britannia Business Sales. The pub has been sold by the Stanton family, who built it in the late 1990s. It has two bars, 14 letting bedrooms with plans for a further eight, and a restaurant with seating for about 50. There's a first-floor function room, which can hold up to 220 people.

Lindisfarne hotel sold for close to £550,000
The Lindisfarne hotel, on the island of the same name off the Northumberland coast, has been sold for close to £550,000. Buyers Hartmut and Jutta Hahn have lived on the island for several years, and bought the 12-bedroom hotel from the Massey family, who are going to run a caf‚ on the island. The agent was Ian Moralee & Co.

Businessman takes over Yew Tree
The Yew Tree caf‚-bar in Borrowdale, Cumbria, has been sold for close to £450,000. Local man Mark Weir, who owns a nearby slate mine, has bought the property, which was built in 1628 as two miners' cottages. The Yew Tree has bar seating for 20 and restaurant seating for 24. There is private accommodation of three bedrooms on the first floor and four bedrooms in a single-storey annexe at the rear of the property. PF&K Commercial was the agent.

Somerset's Stag's Head inn sold
The Stag's Head in the Somerset village of Dunster has been sold for close to £289,500. The inn, which dates back to 1427, has a snug and a skittles alley. Accommodation consists of five letting bedrooms and two bedrooms for the owners. The new owners are a local family, who are new to the industry. The agent was Westcountry Commercial.

Aromandos quit the White Hart
The White Hart in Hampstead Marshall, Berkshire, has been sold after 20 years of ownership by Nicky and Dorothy Aromando. The inn, which had been operated as an Italian restaurant, was sold for very close to £695,000. This is a first-time venture for buyers Kevin and Camilla Reilly, although Camilla has run several pubs before. The couple intend to run the White Hart as a gastropub. Colliers Robert Barry was the agent.

Williamses take on Three Greyhounds
The Three Greyhounds in Allostock, Cheshire, has been sold for close to £119,000 on a three-year rolling lease. The pub has a locals' bar to hold 30 people, a lounge to hold 55, a snug for 30 and a function suite for 80. The new lessees are Robert and Carolyn Williams. Guy Simmonds was the agent.
