Rezidor plans Wembley hotel in time for Olympics

The Rezidor Hotel Group is to open a new Park Inn hotel in Wembley.

Construction of the hotel has started and the opening is scheduled for mid-2012, in time for the Olympics.

The 235-room property will be a mid-market hotel 6km away from central London on Olympic Way, the pedestrian zone leading to the main entrance of Wembley Stadium.

Kurt Ritter, president and CEO of Rezidor, said: "Park Inn is one of our core brands and is currently being refreshed. We are promoting Park Inn's new look and feel with a huge marketing campaign across the UK. The signing of Park Inn London Wembley comes at a perfect time and will further strengthen our brand awareness in the capital city and the country."

Park Inn is already established in the UK with a portfolio of 29 hotels and 4,957 rooms in operation or under development. This includes the recently signed London Excel hotel, a 223-room hotel at the Excel exhibition centre, and the recently opened Park Inn Aberdeen.
