Medirest holds on to Nottinghamshire deal
Medirest has retained its contract with NHS trust Nottinghamshire Healthcare. The three-year deal, which will turn over £9m over the life of the contract, sees Medirest provide catering, cleaning, portering and switchboard services for Newark Hospital, Ashfield and Mansfield Community Hospitals, a mental health unit and 28 health centres and clinics across the county. Medirest is the healthcare services arm of Compass Group.
Charton House heads north of border
Independent contractor Charlton House has opened its first site in Scotland. Under a three-year deal that will turn over £500,000 a year, Charlton House is catering for 500 employees at the Edinburgh office of insurer Scottish Life. The contract was held by Sodexho.
Scolarest goes back to school
Scolarest, the education catering wing of Compass, has won a nine-year extension to its contract at Brentwood County High School in Essex, which has more than 1,400 pupils. The contract will turn over £2.7m over its lifetime, or an average of £300,000 a year.
