Chef Peter Gladwin completes the sale of Just the Bridge restaurant

Chef Peter Gladwin has completed the sale of his Just the Bridge restaurant in the City of London, a deal first revealed by Caterer in April.

Christian Butler, former manager of Polish restaurant Baltic on Blackfriars Road, bought the leasehold for the 80-cover restaurant for the asking price of £200,000. 

He plans to reopen the restaurant under the new name Northbank after a £250,000 refurbishment, serving modern English cuisine. A head chef has yet to be named.

Gladwin is giving up the Just the Bridge site to concentrate on his growing event catering company, Party Ingredients. 

He has also put his 12-year-old restaurant Just Gladwins, also in the City, on the market but will retain his flagship Just St James and Just Oriental restaurants.

Vicky O'Hare, director of Party Ingredients, said: "The City restaurants were a distraction. We want to focus on our core business, event catering in the City, and consolidate and expand on our private work."

Property agent Christie & Co is handling the sale of both properties.
