IoH teams up with energy price comparison service Make It Cheaper

The Institute of Hospitality (IoH) has announced a new partnership with energy price comparison service Make It Cheaper.

The new collaboration is part of the IoH Business Partner Programme, which was launched in 1991 to facilitate communication between hospitality operators and suppliers.

Make It Cheaper helps businesses find cost-savings across a range of products and services and its price comparison service for hospitality businesses aims to assist owners and operators in driving down rising gas, electricity, insurance and telecoms rates.

The service does not carry any fee to institute members.

Jonathan Elliott, managing director of Make It Cheaper, said that many of its customers were involved in the hospitality sector, so it made sense to partner with the Institute of Hospitality.

"Hotels and B&Bs are the most active industry sector and are three-and-a-half times more likely than the average business to switch supplier, closely followed by pubs, bars and restaurants at 2.7 times the average.

"With a flat economic recovery and costs increasing, now is the time for any business who hasn't switched its energy, telecoms or insurance supplier to seriously think about doing so. After all, it's better to cut overheads than it is staff."

Simon Bull, IoH director of business development, marketing and communications, added: "Establishing strategic alliances within the hospitality sector ensures we can serve the professional and business needs of our members by promoting best value, innovation and professional development."
