Lebanese canteen and delicatessen Comptoir Libanais is to open a new outlet in South Kensington in the autumn.

The group, founded by restaurateur Tony Kitous (pictured), has taken over a 1,800sq ft site on Exhibition Road, close to tourist attractions such as the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum and the Royal Albert Hall.

Comptoir Libanais, which offers a Middle Eastern menu with an emphasis on healthy and organic ingredients, will open the new site in October.

Kitous, who also owns Middle Eastern restaurants Levant, Pasha and Kenza, launched Comptoir Libanais (meaning Lebanese counter) in 2009 at Westfield London and shortly afterwards opened a stand-alone restaurant in the West End. He will launch an additional site at the new Westfield Stratford City in September.

Kate Taylor of Davis Coffer Lyons, who represented landlords South Kensington Estates, said: "This latest letting builds on an already impressive line-up of restaurants and cafés including Casa Brindisa and Le Pain Quotidien, strengthened as an eating and drinking destination by the recent public realm improvements at the south end of Exhibition Road which have created a Continental, piazza-style environment for alfresco dining."
