Loch Fyne Restaurants is poised to agree a sale to a private equity firm for about £35m.
The group, which operates 25 Loch Fyne restaurants, is believed to be in talks with private equity firms Isis Equity Partners and Hutton Collins.
In May, the company appointed investment bank Noble to advise it on how to get best value for its shareholders as the Enterprise Investment Fund used to fund the company matures this year. A spokesman said: "We're looking at all options from a trade sale, float or keeping the status quo. We have received interest from both trade and private equity companies."
