Town House boss picks up AA Lifetime Achievement

Town House Company founder and chairman Peter Taylor has won the AA Lifetime Achievement Award for Scotland.

The accolade, revealed as part of the AA Hospitality Awards Scotland, was presented to Taylor at a ceremony held at Edinburgh’s Balmoral hotel last week.

It is granted to the individual that has demonstrated talent, passion and a contribution to the hospitality industry.

Hotelier Taylor said: “This is a very big honour, but really all credit must go to the team who constantly surprise me with their energy, passion and desire to do better.”

Restaurant of the Year went to restaurant-with-rooms and 3 AA Rosette holder the Horseshoe Inn in Eddleston, near Peebles.

AA Hotel of the Year went to the five-star Balmoral and Scottish Pub of the Year was presented to The Inn at Kippen, Stirlingshire, which was commended for its fantastic food.

The winners of the AA Hospitality Awards for England and Wales were revealed last month and honoured the Roux Brothers with a lifetime achievement nod.

Scotland 2007-2007 AA Hospitality Award winners in full:

AA Hotel of the Year: The Balmoral, Edinburgh
AA Restaurant of the Year: The Horseshoe Inn, Eddleston
AA Guest Accommodation of the Year: Trafford Bank guest house, Inverness
AA Scottish Pub of the Year Award: The Inn at Kippen, Stirlingshire
AA Wine Award: The Killiecrankie House hotel
AA Lifetime Achievement Award: Peter Taylor, The Town House Company
