Le Bouchon opens sister restaurant in the City
South London restaurant Le Bouchon Bordelais is launching a sister operation in the City of London today.
Le Bouchon Breton is a 200-seat restaurant in Spitalfields featuring a 50-seat Champagne and oyster bar as well as an al fresco bar and dining area.
Consultant chef Michel Roux Jnr, chef-patron of the two-Michelin-starred Le Gavroche, has overseen the menu of French brasserie classics, while his former head chef, Nicholas Laridan, is executive head chef in charge of the kitchen.
Le Bouchon proprietor Ian Stoppani told Caterersearch he is delighted about the new launch and had been looking to open a second restaurant for a number of years.
"We initially looked at a site in South Kensington but when the City location came along we decided to solely focus our attention on this project," he said. "Spitalfields is crying out for a decent brasserie and Champagne bar and Le Bouchon Breton is sure to make an instant impact."
Le Bouchon Bordelaise has been a south London favourite for more than 20 years. Stoppani sold the restaurant's sister venue Le Bouchon Lyonnais last year.
