
Buying consortium Beacon Purchasing has bucked the belt-tightening trend by investing in three new director-level roles.
The group is beefing up its hospitality division with the creation of two new positions - director of customer accounts and director of business development – while the marketing team led by Diane Webster has also been strengthened.
Additionally, Jason Thompson has joined the group from Bunzl to fill the new position of national accounts manager for Beacon Healthcare, its new procurement service for healthcare groups and associations. The division has achieved sales in excess of £1m through supply deals since its launch in October.
Beacon has more than 2,000 independent members from the hospitality, leisure and healthcare sectors.
