Lexington introduces calorie labelling
Lexington Catering has introduced calorie labelling to its Let's Energise product range as part of its efforts to support the Government's Public Health Responsibility Deal.
The caterer teamed up with Liz Tucker, nutritionist and health and wellbeing consultant at Be Happy Be Healthy (www.behappybehealthy.co.uk) to break down the nutritional content of the range, which will feature calorie labelling from today.
Rob Kirby, Lexington's chef director, said the labelling means that the caterer's customers can see for themselves how the range is nutritionally balanced, "delivering good protein, good carbohydrates and good fats in each item".
"Lexington has always believed in the importance of healthy eating and a well-balanced diet and by offering calorie counted products in the workplace we are supporting a number of pledges in the Governments Public Health Responsibility Deal," he added.
