Yorkshire chef buys Peak District country inn

Red Lion Inn

Chef Keith Bullivant has moved from North Yorkshire to Staffordshire to take over the Red Lion Inn with his partner Angela Wilson.

The traditional 19th century country inn is located in the village of Waterfall on the southern edge of the Peak District National Park.

Its hillside construction has allowed the creation of an unusual terraced beer garden.

The property, which is made from local stone, comprises a bar, a lounge, a 22-seat restaurant, and a four-bedroom owners’ accommodation.

It is well-placed to attract passing trade from walkers, cyclists and tourists with a public footpath along one side and circular walks available from the inn. The property is just a short drive from the Alton Towers theme park.

The Birmingham office of Chrisite + Co sold the Red Lion Inn for £300,000 (from an asking price of £315,000) on behalf of Brian and Kathleen Hunt who have moved on after three years to run a B&B in Scotland.
