Northern Hospitality Awards 2010

Steve Smith from the Burlington restaurant at the Devonshire Arms in Bolton Abbey and Tom Van Zeller from Van Zeller in Harrogate are among the chefs shortlisted for this year’s Northern Hospitality Awards.

In the Best Hotels category, the finalists include Abode, Manchester, the Lowry, Manchester and Rudding Park, Harrogate.

A record number of chefs, restaurants, bars and hotels from across the North West, Yorkshire and the North East have entered this year. The awards ceremony, which will be presented by Nigel Barden, will take place on 12 April 2010 at the Hilton Deansgate, Manchester.

Thom Hetherington, managing director of Moorfield Media, organisers of the awards, commented: “The calibre of entries this year has been exceptionally high, with a number of Michelin starred establishments taking part, which is great to see.

“Our judges had an incredibly tough time whittling down the entries as so many were hugely impressive. They have now made their decisions though and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the entrants for taking part and wish all the finalists the very best of luck for the big night.”
