Wilson Storey Halliday (WSH), the Berkshire-based independent contract caterer, boosted turnover by 23% to more than £56m in 2003.

The company increased revenue in 2003 by £10m through winning new contracts, including English National Opera, EuroTunnel and Thales. The caterer now has 260 contracts throughout the UK and Ireland in 165 locations and employs 1,600 staff.

Alastair Storey, managing director, said the company was looking forward to another bumper year. He added that in the first three months, WSH had won £8m of new business, including contracts at Barclays' new head office in London's Canary Wharf, PA Consulting and the Financial Times.

WSH recently bought education and healthcare specialist Cater Link for between £3m and £4m.
