Restaurants Against Hunger is a group of like-minded people in the UK food and restaurant industry who, over the past eight years, have come together to take action against hunger and malnutrition around the world.

Restaurants Against Hunger Week runs 9-14 October, and restaurants up and down the country will invite their customers to treat one or several children to a meal by making a donation when they pay the bill. This way, customers not only enjoy a meal out, but help to provide the equivalent of 200,000 meals to hungry children - the target of Restaurants Against Hunger Week 2004.

Star events include the Too Many Critics dinner on 17 October, at which critics such as Fay Maschler and Jay Rayner will swap their pens for pans and chefs' whites, and cook for an audience of top chefs including Rick Stein.

It's not too late to get involved. Ring 020 7232 0606 or e-mail info@aahuk.org
