Now in their second year, the Springboard Awards for Excellence pay homage to individuals and organisations that help attract and keep people in the hospitality industry. This year the ceremony will be held at the Brewery in London’s Chiswell Street on 1 November.

Nominees compete in three categories: Promoting Careers, Attracting People, and Best Employment Practice. In the first category prizes include the Best Regional Initiative, which rewards those who are able to best attract employees at a regional level, and the Education Award, which will be given to the nominee that has established the best on-going relationship with a school, college or university.

Awards for Attracting People include a prize for the Best Student Placement Provider and the Diversity in Employment Award, which recognises workforces that reflect the communities in which they are based. The third category rewards the best employers in the sectors of hospitality & leisure and travel & tourism. A Springboard Special Award will be given for the person or company that has made the best overall contribution to the cause over the last 12 months.

Last year’s winners included Claridge’s (Best Employer Award), TGI Friday’s (Best Career Progression/Retention Award) and Glasgow City Council Direct & Care Services (the Recruitment Award).
