With reference to the letter from Caroline Chambers of the Channel Chamber of Commerce (Caterer, 20 April, page 18), we would like to fully endorse her organisation's sentiments and also add our support to Caterer's Say No To Bed Tax campaign.
As the strategic body for tourism in the South-east of England, we have been working closely with the Tourism Alliance on its consolidated industry response to the Lyons Inquiry.
Following a consultation with our members, who range from large hotel chains to single-room B&B operators, there was a clear opposition to the bed tax proposals and this was clearly reflected in our input to the Tourism Alliance's final submission.
We wish you every success with the campaign and acknowledge the importance this has for the industry.
