IRT improves savings across the Winterhalter dishwashing range

IRT (intelligent resource technology) is a clutch of resource-saving technologies that Winterhalter has launched across its complete range of dish- and glass-washing machines to slash running costs.

For instance, IRT rinse systems use 25% less water to bring cost savings of 13% on the GS200 and GS300 front-loaders and up to 20% on GS500 pass-through washers.

The ReTemp (reduced temperature) system washes glasses at 40°C, rather than the usual 60°C or 85°C, to cut operating costs by 16% and deliver cooler, drier glasses.

The IRT Energy and Energy+ systems, winners of the Innovative New Product category at this year's Foodservice Consultants Society International Awards, use waste steam (and waste water in the case of Energy+) from the GS500 pass-through dishwasher to heat incoming fresh water. The two systems reduce the connected load by 3kW and 6kW respectively, yielding savings of up to £821 and £1,095 per year.

The MT series of high-volume rack conveyor machines have benefited from two improvements. The new fresh air drying zone (also available on the MT flight conveyor machines) uses less-humid air from outside, rather than from within the machine, to improve drying and reduce connected load to 2kW or 4kW. A new rinse water-saving system also cuts water consumption by up to 30%.
