Cleaning ice machines is an often-neglected task, but Winterhalter has made it easy to keep machines hygienic with a just a few minutes' effort every few weeks.
It has linked forces with US ice-machine maker Manitowoc to develop the Ice Machine Sanitizer, a pack of six one-litre bottles that will clean all makes and models of machine.
Flushing the chemicals through the ice-maker mechanism will prevent the build-up of scale and damp mould that can contaminate the ice, although the storage bins will still need to be cleaned manually.
Each pack costs £55 and the contents of each bottle can clean between one and 10 ice machines, depending on their size.
