Koffmann takes La Tante Claire to Savoy Group's Berkeley hotel

Thursday 09 July 1998 00:00

Chef-proprietor Pierre Koffmann, who runs London's three-Michelin-starred La Tante Claire, is moving the restaurant to the Savoy-owned Berkeley hotel.

The move, which has long been rumoured, has finally been confirmed. It will take place in September.

Koffmann is taking his team with him to the 65-cover restaurant. A spokeswoman at the Berkeley said that some existing staff have found jobs within the group, but others will have to find employment elsewhere.

The Berkeley's executive head chef, Andrew Turner, will retain his position and will oversee breakfast, some private dining, the leisure club and room service.
