Budget sandwich shop chain Benjys is entering into mobile catering in a bid to get a slice of the £400m market.
The group is launching a fleet of “Less Bread Vans” to up to 500 entrepreneurs, in the hope of building a base of operators around the UK.

Benjys said the vans would bring a Benjys offering to “captive audiences” in industrial parks.
Chief executive Ian Rickwood, said: “We see real a opportunity to revolutionise the mobile market and bring Benjys value to out-of-town office and factory workers.”
The company is now searching for franchisees for the “Less Bread Van” fleet, which it hopes to turn into a 100% franchised operation.
In May this year Benjys announced a £4m national expansion programme, which includes the opening of 20 new stores over the next year. The group currently has 60 shops in its portfolio.
Rickwood added that he had no plans to franchise Benjys stores.
