Newcastle-based leisure company Ladhar Group is to launch its first restaurant in London.
The firm, which owns pubs and clubs in the North-east, will open Number One City Road Bar & Grill on 24 July.
The 140-seat restaurant’s modern interiors will include a semi-open-plan kitchen, a bar and a main dining room.
The menu, overseen by executive chef Alistair Day, will include meat and seafood dishes from the grill, with a focus on seasonal British produce.
Operations director Chris Knight said the restaurant – which he described as a British version of Argentinian chain Gaucho Grill – could be the first of a number of London sites for Ladhar.
“The location of the restaurant is great and we feel that the concept taps into a gap in the market,” he said.
