Lindley Heritage has been awarded a £1.8m, five-year deal to provide catering at Yorkshire's new art gallery, the Hepworth Wakefield.
It is the first contract for Lindley Group's new division, which has been established to service the heritage and arts and leisure sectors.
The caterer will operate the 80-cover restaurant at the £35m venue, which opened in May, as well as offering catering for hospitality and special events. To develop the banqueting business it will join forces with sister company Heathcotes Outside.
Lindley Group chief executive Adam Elliott said: "The food offer Lindley Heritage will deliver is a simple one that concentrates on delivering high-quality, freshly prepared food using local produce. There will be a delicious range of seasonal hot food that will be delivered to the table, as well as a great range of food on display on the main counter."
The Hepworth Wakefield is the country's third-largest purpose-built art gallery outside London and is expected to attract between 150,000 and 200,000 visitors a year. Its 10-gallery spaces will display historic and modern art, alongside temporary exhibitions of contemporary art.
Gallery director Simon Wallis added: "The creation of The Hepworth Wakefield is an extraordinary venture and I believe this is going to be one of the UK's great galleries. But it is absolutely grounded in being part of the local community, so we wanted a catering partner who would reflect the core values of the gallery in their food offering."
