Hilton Hotels Corporation has signed a franchisee deal that will see the first Hampton by Hilton open in the UK next year.

Franchisee Hotel Solutions London will open an 86-bedroom Hampton towards the end of next year at Rockingham Leisure Park in Corby, Northamptonshire.

Trading in the USA as Hampton Inn, the hotel company describes it as “a new kind of economy hotel”.

Key features include a hot breakfast, 100% satisfaction guarantee and complimentary high-speed internet access throughout.

Ultimately it plans 20 Hampton by Hilton hotels within the next four to five years.

Simon Vincent, president for Hilton in the UK and Ireland, said: “The introduction of the Hampton by Hilton brand is an important aspect of our strategic ambition – one that we believe has huge growth potential in the UK.”

“We currently have 75 hotels across the UK and Ireland, and we look forward to doubling this figure in 10 years.”

In June, Caterer revealed Hilton had entered into a separate development agreement with hotel franchise owner and operator Somerston Hotels UK to introduce 25 new Hamptons across the UK.

A Hilton spokeswoman confirmed that deal was moving ahead well and a further announcement would be made in due course.

Since the reunification of Hilton in 2006 the group has been looking at importing some of its US only brands to the UK to differentiate its Hilton hotel product.

There are more than 1,500 Hamptons worldwide with more than 140,000 rooms.
