Dukes hotel goes it alone in bid for expansion

London's Dukes hotel is to end its association with CampbellGray Hotels on 31 December and go it alone, as it looks to expand the brand across Europe, the USA and the Middle East.

The five-star boutique hotel, which is owned by Seven Tides, has enjoyed a four-year association with CampbellGray Hotels, but the brand will now expand under the Seven Tides Hotel Management Division, with help from general manager Debrah Dhugga and her team.

Despite that, there will be no changes in internal management and the day-to-day running of the business will continue as normal, with Dhugga in charge.

Dukes was renovated in 2007 and is famed for its bar, where James Bond author Ian Fleming is supposed to have found the inspiration for the immortal "shaken not stirred" line while drinking Martinis.

Earlier this year Dhugga and her team won a Catey for Best Independent Marketing Campaign.

Meanwhile, CampbellGray hotels is also reportedly set to expand, but will concentrate on contemporary luxury hotels and the Le Gray brand, with a particular focus on Lebanon, the Middle East and the Caribbean.
