Two senior catering officials at Lord's have been suspended while an internal investigation takes place into their conduct.
Steve Smith, executive chef at Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC), and catering general manager Mark Harris, were told to leave the iconic cricket ground last Friday, according to The Daily Mail.
The human resources department has launched an inquiry into allegations that the MCC's catering team were working on outside events using Lord's supplies without the knowledge of the cricket authorities.
A similar in-house Lord's investigation took place last year into serious irregularities in the way food supply contracts had been awarded.
The suspension of the two men was confirmed by a spokesperson for the MCC, who declined to comment further on the internal inquiry.
