Alliance in Partnership retains school contracts worth £1.7m

Education catering specialist Alliance in Partnership (AiP) has announced a hat-trick of school contract retentions worth about £1.7m. on top of the four new business wins it has already secured this year.

AiP has delivered school meals to more than 1,000 pupils at Sir Henry Floyd Grammar School, Aylesbury, for the last five years. The contract, worth £850,000 in total, has just been renewed for a further five years. The caterer will invest in a complete kitchen and dining room refurbishment during the school summer holidays as a result of the extension.

Ian Bryant, assistant head (support pperations) for the school, said the caterer's staff had come to be part of the school team. "Our experience to date has shown that they have provided what we have asked for from the daily service to pupils through to variable hospitality requests," he explained. "We had no hesitation in extending our contract with them for a further five years and I have no doubt that they will continue to deliver what is required."

Blue Coat Church of England Comprehensive School in Walsall has renewed its current three-year contract by a further year, worth £125,000 to AiP. The school educates almost 1,000 pupils, aged 11-18 years, and is this year to become an academy. This joins a growing list of academies that AiP will operate at.

The third contract retention is at Burnham Grammar School in Slough, Buckinghamshire. It has been extended until at least 2016 and is worth £750,000 over the term. Last year, a cashless system was launched as an efficiency initiative to reduce administration and streamline food ordering and serving processes to the pupils receiving school meals. The school educates more than 815 pupils and sees the system as a long term investment along with their partnership with AiP.

David Weller, managing director of AiP, described 2011 as a year for the business and welcomed the new and retained business. "As a company, we must maintain promises and quality throughout the term.

"Turnover figures show a 70% increase over the last three years and with additional tenders and contract retention in the pipeline, the future is looking very healthy indeed."
