The national minimum wage goes up by 35p an hour tomorrow (1 October).
Under the new rates, those older than 22 must be paid £4.85 per hour, compared with £4.50 previously. Those aged 18 to 21 are now entitled to £4.10 per hour, a 30p increase.
For the first time this year, 16- and 17-year-old employees must also be paid a minimum wage, with the rate set at £3 per hour.
The amount employers can deduct from hospitality workers for accommodation has also been increased to £3.75 per day or £26.25 a week. This rate also starts tomorrow.
