ETM Group, run by pub operators Tom and Ed Martin, is to hire out private rooms in all but one of its eight pubs during the World Cup for football fans who want to enjoy the games in private.

The company is offering 42in plasma screens and a 'beautiful game' style buffet menu which showcases a dish from each of England's Group C opponents. The menu includes: lamb stew with couscous, chickpeas and harissa (Algeria); beef goulash (Slovenia); hot dogs with fried onions (USA); and beer battered fish and chips with pea purée (England).

The seven participating pubs are: The Gun in London's Docklands, The Well in Clerkenwell, The White Swan in Fetter Lane, The Cadogan Arms on the King's Road, The Prince Arthur in London Fields, The Empress of India in Victoria Park, Hat and Tun on Hatton Wall. Deals start at £30 per person.
