BAHA to become HOSPA
The British Association of Hospitality Accountants (BAHA) is to be renamed as the Hospitality Professionals Assocation (HOSPA).
Members of the education-focused organisation, which represents the financial management, revenue management and IT sectors of hospitality, voted for the change at an extraordinary general meeting. However, the new name will not come into use until its official launch in September.
BAHA chief executive Carl Weldon said the new name represented an exciting new era of growth for the body. "The name change to HOSPA embraces and takes into account our current development of individual ‘communities' for each of BAHA's three membership disciplines of finance, revenue management, and IT, which each have their own education requirements and issues," he added.
The BAHA is a non-profit organisation which has nearly 1,000 members.
