Daniel Galmiche has been named as the new head chef at one-Michelin-starred Berkshire restaurant L'Ortolan in Shinfield. He takes over from Alan Murchison, who will join Chewton Glen in New Milton, Hampshire, as executive chef later this summer.
Galmiche, who was made redundant from his job as head chef at Harvey's in Bristol when it was closed by owner Allied Domecq in March, joins L'Ortolan at the end of the month.
L'Ortolan managing director Jeremy Newman said he was excited about Galmiche's appointment. "We see this move as a chance to build on the accolades and the good work Alan has done," he said.
