David and Victoria Beckham have abandoned their Hertfordshire mansion "Beckingham Palace" for the Gran Meli Fenix hotel in Madrid following the former Manchester United star's transfer to Real Madrid.
The couple are currently staying in the hotel's presidential suite at a cost of £1,300 a night. The 600sq m suite boasts a balcony overlooking the city, an outdoor Jacuzzi and full butler service.
The Gran Meliá Fenix's nickname as "the hotel of the nobility" and its recent £9m refurbishment are thought to have influenced the couple's choice.
