The Four Seasons Park Lane is currently being renovated

Luxury hotel operator Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts is to open its third hotel in London.

The new property will be housed within the Heron Plaza development at Bishopsgate in the City, which is currently under construction.

Gerald Ronson’s Heron International, which is developing the site, has agreed terms with Four Seasons to build the hotel, although exact details of the size of the hotel have not been disclosed.

Heron will submit plans that include the hotel by the end of the year. The original consent, granted in 2004, only covers the 46-storey office skyscraper, Heron Tower, which is already under construction, and retail and public space.

Four Seasons currently has two hotels in London, one on Park Lane, which is undergoing a renovation due to be completed next year, and the second at Canary Wharf. It also has a hotel in Hampshire.

Jonathan Goldstein, joint managing director of Heron International, said: “The addition of a Four Seasons hotel as part of the Heron Plaza would provide a tremendous new facility in the heart of London, as well as significantly enhancing the whole Heron Plaza complex.”

“If Heron and Four Seasons receive planning consent and complete the agreement, it will be an improvement for the City, which has few high-quality and luxury hotels.”
