Experienced hoteliers Mark and Sara Watts from Christchurch in Hampshire have bought the Tyrrells Ford Country House hotel in nearby Avon on the edge of the New Forest.
The three-star hotel is an 18th century manor house that once served as the hunting lodge of Lord and Lady Manners.
It occupies an eight-acre site that is four miles from Ringwood and Christchurch and nine miles from Bournemouth.
Along with 16 en-suite bedrooms, the facilities include the 60-seat Tyrrels bar, the linked 90-seat Tatterstalls restaurant and 35-seat Avon Suite function room, and the Minstrels Galleried Lounge which is licensed to hold civil wedding ceremonies.
The Winchester office of Christie + Co sold the hotel off a guide price of £2.1m on behalf of Ivan Caplan and his family.
