Restaurant in historic Dorset market town for sale

The Blue Fig

The Blue Fig restaurant in the heart of the historic market town of Wimborne Minster in Dorset is looking for a new owner.

The town is set in the water meadows of the Rivers Stour and Allen and is renowned for its quality specialist shops, fine restaurants, inns and teashops. Wimborne Market is one of the largest and most famous in the south of England.

The Blue Fig is located at 9 Leigh Road, just two minutes walk from the Minster Church of St Cuthburga which dates back to the 8th century when King Alfred ruled Wessex.

The 30-seat restaurant occupies the ground floor of a three-storey building which includes two-bedroom owners’ accommodation on the upper floors and a rear courtyard garden.

Current owners Jason and Lynn Hindle have recently refurbished the premises and have built up a strong repeat trade both locally and from Bournemouth and Poole.

Jason was formerly the head chef of the Windsor Castle conference centre and is now looking to move into the hotel trade.

The Winchester office of Christie + Co is seeking offers from £89,050 for the leasehold, which runs until 2012.
