Jamie Oliver's Fabulous Feasts in deal with boat firm Woods' Silver Fleet

Jamie Oliver has expanded his position in the event catering market with a new partnership with river venue operator Woods' Silver Fleet.

Oliver's Fabulous Feasts, his events catering business which launched last year, will begin work with the family-run boat firm from 16 August.

Event agency Fiona Leahy Design has also been signed up by Woods' Silver Fleet as in-house event designer.

The Fabulous Feasts team will take over the catering on two of the fleet's river boats, the Royal Nore and the flagship 61m 'super yacht' the Silver Sturgeon (pictured), from Rhubarb Food Design. Rhubarb's contract with Woods' Silver Fleet included an agreement that it would automatically terminate if the Silver Barracuda was sold because it would no longer be in its financial interests.

Oliver said that he and his team are happy to be working with the Woods family. "[They] have been running this business on the Thames for five generations now, and they're as passionate about their fleet as I am about the food we'll be serving on-board.

"Of course, we'll be using loads of great British produce, and taking inspiration from around the world for our exciting dishes and on-deck barbecues."

Tom Woods, managing director of Woods' Silver Fleet, added: "Our passions are boats and food. With Jamie and his new events team and the stylish, creative eye of Fiona Leahy, a party aboard the Silver Sturgeon or Royal Nore will be one of the most glorious places in London to enjoy delicious, honest food which reflects Jamie's passionate personality."
