Charlton House wins £2.7m Royal College of Art contract

Workplace caterer Charlton House has won a £2.7m contract at the Royal College of Art (RCA) in London.

The three-year deal will see the caterer, part of CH&Co, take over the provision of food services to the 1,200 staff, students and visitors to the college from an in-house team.

The contract, worth £900,000 a year, began last week and will run for an initial three-year period. A team of 22 Charlton House employees will serve breakfast, lunch and supper to students, faculty and visitors in an all-day café and a refectory, as well as lunch to senior members of staff and their guests in the Senior Common Room.

Ampersand Events, another CH&Co business, has also been appointed to the approved supplier list for external hospitality.

Caroline Fry, Charlton House chief executive, said: "A major refurbishment of the restaurant areas is planned and we're looking forward to launching our new menus; serving meals that are healthy, delicious and visually appealing.

"I'm confident that Charlton House can help the talented art and design students at the RCA reach even greater levels of creative excellence by providing nourishing meals to sustain them throughout the day."
