Jonathan Dawson has been appointed general manager of the five-star, 68-bedroom Scotsman hotel in Edinburgh.
Dawson has 17 years' experience in hotels, having held a number of positions within the sector, including operations director for West Country Hotels and general manager for Virgin Hotels.
Brian Williams, chief executive of the Scotsman Hotel Group, said Dawson would be an "invaluable asset" to the hotel and would be responsible for its ongoing development.
The Scotsman is one of three hotels that make up the Scotsman Hotel Group. It also has the 42 The Calls hotel in Leeds and the Hotel Tremoille in Paris.
Klaus Kabelitz has replaced Jean-Jacques Pergant as general manager of the five-star Berkeley hotel in London.
Kabelitz has been managing the 214-bedroom hotel since Pergant's departure in early September, but has now officially been appointed general manager.
