The beautifully named Knobbly Carrot Food Company started life as a small set-up supplying organic soups and sandwich fillings to shops near its base in Lampeter, Ceredigion. Now the products, and salads too, are available nationwide, and include the Great Taste Awards gold-winning minestrone soup and bronze-winning sweet corn chowder. For sandwiches, look out for the alpine sausage salad filling or the Mexican Hat Dance, a combination of red kidney beans, cheese, peppers and chilli blended with mayonnaise. Most products have a shelf life of between nine and 14 days and are sold in 2.5kg buckets.

PRICE: for 2.5kg - soups from £6.40, salads from £6.96, sandwich fillings from £16.90

AVAILABLE FROM: The Knobbly Carrot Food Company 01570 422064
