The Lady Ottoline opens in London's Bloomsbury

The owners of east London gastropub the Princess of Shoreditch have opened a second site, the Lady Ottoline in Bloomsbury.

Scott Hunter and Maria Larsen haven taken over the site on Northington Street, which is spread over two floors and features a ground floor bar and two first floor dining rooms.

Interiors have been developed by Olly Simpson and Concorde BGW and mix Victorian furniture such as antique Queen Anne tables and chairs and deep buttoned banquette seating with a cosy pub atmosphere.

Head chef Shaun O'Rouke is overseeing the kitchen, offering a classic pub menu in the bar and a more modern British menu in the upstairs dining room.

Typical dishes include venison shank pie, fish and chips and bangers and mash in the bar, as well as Kilravock farm pork belly, braised cheek, black pudding croquette, carrot & anis purée, crackling and cider jus upstairs.

The Lady Ottoline offers a selection of quality English ales from local London breweries such as Meantime Pale Ale and Sambrook's Wandle as well as a selection of English wines.

Commenting on the new launch, Hunter and Larsen said they were very excited: "We fell in love with the pub as soon as we saw it and felt we could turn it into something really special. Our aim for the Lady Ottoline is the same as for the Princess - to be the best pub in the area and a real alternative to local upmarket restaurants but without the price tag."
