Acorn winners 2012 – Katarzyna Ciblic

Age 28

Position Revenue manager, the Cavendish, London

Nominator Neil Braude

Proudest career moment Winning the Team Leader of the Year award in 2011 at the Cavendish Shine Awards. I've worked hard on developing my leadership skills over the past few years to be able to inspire and engage people in my team, so I was pleased to achieve this particular award.

Ambition I'd love to continue working in revenue management and contribute to the evolution of this discipline. I'm a member of the Revenue Management Society and would like to gain practical insight into revenue management at a regional or even global level, and also from different sectors within hospitality.

Katarzyna Ciblic moved to London from Poland in 2004 and started work in hospitality while studying for her HND diploma in International Hospitality Management at the University of West London. Her placement at the Cavendish started in 2007 in the reservations department. In 2008, she was offered a permanent role as reservations supervisor and soon rose to reservations manager, assisting the director of revenue and contributing to achieving rooms revenue budgets in excess of £14m. By 2011, Katarzyna had been promoted to revenue manager, responsible for rooms and conference & events revenue. She also oversees the reservations and conference & events team.

Already, Katarzyna has helped the hotel grow 9% on last year for the first four months of 2012, while also completing her degree in Hospitality Management.
