Rezidor Hotel Group is to open properties under its mid-market Park Inn brand in London, Slovakia and Senegal, adding 584 rooms.

The company, which outlined plans to open 20,000 new rooms between 2007 and 2009, has taken over the Bonnington Hotel in London’s Russell Square and will open it as a Park Inn on 1 February.

The 214-room property is the group’s 48th in the UK and its fourth hotel in London – adding to the Radisson SAS Portman, the Park Inn Hyde Park and the Park Inn Heathrow.

In Slovakia’s capital Bratislava, Rezidor has taken over the existing Danube Hotel Bratislava and re-branded it as Park Inn Danube.

Rezidor’s third new hotel is located in Dakar in Senegal. The 105-room Park Inn Dakar will open its doors in the fourth quarter of 2009.

Kurt Ritter, president and chief executive of Rezidor, said: “Park Inn is our fastest growing brand and we are especially proud to open a real flagship property in London, one of Europe’s key markets.”
