Rising star Adam Simmonds has been promoted to executive chef at Danesfield House Hotel and Spa in Buckinghamshire and has had the Oak Room fine-dining restaurant named after him.

Simmonds, who previously held a Michelin star at Ynyshir Hall in Eglwysfach, Powys, is now responsible for all food and beverage at the hotel including the Orangery restaurant, afternoon tea, banqueting and room service. The four-rosetted Oak Room, where Simmonds was previously head chef, will now be called Adam Simmonds at Danesfield House.

Brian Miller, general manager of Danesfield House, said: “We want to bring all the food and beverage offerings at the hotel into line with what has been achieved in the Oak Room to date. Adam Simmonds at Danesfield House shows our full commitment to Adam and likewise Adam’s commitment to Danesfield House.”

Simmonds was appointed to Danesfield House in February 2007 replacing Aiden Byrne. He was recently identified by the Good Food Guide as one of 10 chefs to dominate the next decade and is widely tipped to gain a Michelin star at Danesfield House with the publication of the 2010 Michelin Guide to Great Britain & Ireland later this month.
