Punch puts 39 pubs up for sale

Punch Taverns has put 39 tenanted pubs on the market in its first major disposal of sites since selling 839 pubs to Admiral Taverns in April 2007.

Britain’s largest pub owner and operator said they had identified a small number of pubs for sale as part of its ongoing estate review.

A spokesman for Punch said: “As part of the ongoing strategic review of our estate we usually identify somewhere in the region of 100 leased pubs each year for disposal.

"We currently have a package of 39 pubs for disposal and are talking to a number of possible purchasers.”
